1. What is meant by accessibility standards? These are standard developed by the w3c to give access to the web for people with disabilities.
2. How can color create a barrier to content? if the contrast is not set up right the colors might blent out the design so you cant se it.
3. Why is it important to provide a way for users to skip the navigation lists? it gives them the option to go directly to your sites main content.
4. What is meant by providing "alt text" to the user?A text alternative for images.
5. What is the difference between section 508 and wcag 1.0? section 508 came up with standards for the web for disabled people. The wcag 1.0 created standards for the web for everyone else.
6. How does design differ from style? Design is the layout and usability of a site. the styles are the aesthetic parts of a site.
7. Why is it important to separate content from presentation? so you can change the styles without loosing any of the content. also to apply styles to multiple pages.
8. Why is it important to validate our mark-up & CSS? to make sure it is web compliant and will work in all browsers. Also it lets you know if your site will meet section 508 standards.
9. What are the two major parts of a CSS rule?syntax and basic data types
10. Define these CSS properties: float, margin, padding, and border?The float property is most commonly applied to images and divs and accepts the value of right, left, or none. Margins define the space surrounding an element. Padding sets the amount of space inside of a block element.Border controls enable you to add a visible border around an area.
11. Define these CSS properties: font-family, font-size, line-height, letter-spacing. font family gives the look of the lettering of the page. font size is the size of the lettering on the page.The line-height property specifies the line height. Letter spacing is the space between the letters.
12. What is the “Box Model?”The CSS box model describes the rectangular boxes that are generated for elements in the document tree and laid out according to the visual formatting model.
13. What is the difference between a CSS class and an ID? How much they can be used on a page.
14. What is the difference between a DIV and a SPAN?a div is a block-level element whereas a span is an inline element.
15. How does the “Cascade” relate to the conflicts in CSS rules?f there is no conflict between any of these rules from any of these sources, they are all applied. When there is conflict, the cascade lets these multiple styles "cascade down" to each element using the sorting order illustrated in Image 1. In this graphic, styles at each level lower down always take precedence over styles at higher levels.

What is the purpose of the Document Type Declaration?A Document Type Declaration, or DOCTYPE, is an instruction that associates a particular SGML or XML document (for example, a webpage) with a Document Type Definition (DTD) (for example, the formal definition of a particular version of HTML). In the serialized form of the document, it manifests as a short string of markup that conforms to a particular syntax.
17. What is the difference between a browser’s “quirks” mode and it’s “standards” model?
18. Define inline, embedded, and external (aka. local, global, and linked) stylesheets? inline styles occur inside html tags in the body section of the html document. Embedded style sheets are linked within the head section and is a separate file used more often then not to change multiple web pages.
